This five-day instructor-led introductory course teaches students the skills they need to install, configure, and administer IBM WebSphere Application Server V6.1 and IBM WebSphere Process Server for Multiplatforms V 6.1, a high-performance business engine at the heart of business process management (BPM) and service-oriented architecture (SOA). Through a combination of instructor-led lectures and hands-on lab exercises, students learn how to install, configure, and administer WebSphere Process Server for Multiplatforms V6.1. Topics covered include security, working with human tasks, the Common Event Infrastructure (CEI), and business process choreography. Hands-on exercises are designed to reinforce the lectures, giving students practical experience with skills such as installation, configuring security, workload management, and problem determination. This course also concentrates on WebSphere Process Server administration tasks, and covers WebSphere Application Server only to the extent necessary to understand WebSphere Process Server administration. After completing this course, students should be able to: Install and configure WebSphere Process Server, Describe architectural concepts related to WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Process Server, Configure the business process engine, Install and manage business applications, Use administrative tools to configure and manage business applications, Explain WebSphere Platform Messaging (WPM) and Install the IBM HTTP server and plug-in.
