You will learn about the major functions of the SDMC, how to access applications and tasks, customize views and data, how to access the SDMC command line, and run SDMC commands. A comparison to the Hardware Management Console (HMC) will also be provided. Hands-on Lab exercises will reinforce the lecture.

  • Execute SDMC commands from ssh command-line
  • Aware of when each type of appliance (S/W or H/W) is required
  • Describe the available SDMC resiliency options
  • Describe Hierarchical Management Aware of the Systems
  • Director Express functionality within the SDMC appliance
  • Aware of how to transition from an HMC to an SDMC
  • Describe how the virtual appliance is installed
  • Describe how the hardware appliance is installed
  • Perform common HMC tasks using the SDMC appliance
