zParms Schulung: DB2 Systemprogrammiererung
This course is designed to teach Systems Programmers and Database Administrators what is behind most of the DB2 9 for z/OS ZPARMs. Although all parameters are described in the Installation guide, for many of them it is not obvious what they really do, how changing several of them can really help you doing your every day job and make DB2 perform and behave better. During this course, you will touch almost every DB2 9 ZPARM. The purpose is to explain to you which functionality within DB2 is controlled by each of them. There are many ZPARMs which depend on each other. For those ZPARMS it is important to understand how they inter-operate and how changing one of them can significantly affect other things too. There are also many ZPARMs which are not always easy to understand for system programmers and database administrators, because they might influence application programming issues. This course covers all those and helps you to understand their purpose and what you might cause if you change those to a different value than they currently have.
