Database Internals Schulung:
Know the database internals
This seminar is prepared for DBAs and experienced developers who are interested to know the database internals to help them in performance problem troubleshooting. During this seminar we discuss the buffer cache internals and specific problems related to the cache fusion in RAC environment. The SGA and especially the library cache mechanisms are important for parsing and cursor execution. Many performance problems during the parse phase are caused by latch contention.
During this lesson we will discuss also the mutexes, which were introduced in Oracle 10gR2. In the seminar we will discuss the redo / undo internals and how one can reduce the amount of redo information generated. The last session will discuss the internals of automatic memory management for working areas (PGA memory management).
