Discover the new features, functionality and architecture of OBI
The 11g releases of Oracle Business Intelligence 11g, Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition and Oracle EPM Suite provide a host of new features and capabilities for enterprise business intelligence. This seminar takes students through the new features, functionality and architecture of Oracle Business Intelligence and takes an under-the-covers look at how applications are developed using this updated product range.Starting with an overview of the 11g release of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, we look at key architectural changes, management using Fusion Middleware Control, and enhancements to the metadata model to better support OLAP and other hierarchical data. Changes to the BI Server security model are discussed, as well as key enhancements to Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle Warehouse Builder to support enterprise-wide BI deployments.Students will be taken through the new features in Oracle Dashboards and Answers, and will see how the new mapping, scorecarding and KPI features in the front-end tools can be integrated into projects. The new Action Framework will be demonstrated with practical examples given as to how SOA and web services can be incorporated into the BI framework.Application development using ADF, Oracle BI and Essbase data will be demonstrated, with demos and sample code provided so that students can practice this integration back in their offices. Finally, the new web-based templating features in Oracle BI Publisher will be demonstrated and discussed, with advice given on how to incorporate these new features into the BI framework and dashboard.Aimed at developers new to Oracle Business Intelligence, or with experience in previous releases of the product, this seminar will provide a complete, holistic and practical introduction to the new features in Oracle’s business intelligence tools.
